What to do straight away
- Switch it off and unplug the charger. Hold the power button down if you have to.
- Do not switch it back on to see if it still works.
- Turn it upside down, open like a tent, so liquid drains away from the motherboard.
- Skip the hairdryer and the bag of rice. Neither removes liquid from inside the laptop.
- Call us and get it to us as soon as you can.
How the repair works
Liquid causes corrosion and short circuits that get worse with time, so speed matters more than anything. We open the laptop, clean the affected boards and connectors, replace parts that cannot be saved, such as the keyboard, and test everything before it goes back together.
